Personal Projects
Mostly storyboards with some animation, these projects were created outside of class and with my own original characters and purposes.
All Eyes on Me
All Eyes On Me is a personal project made as an expression of my mental health journey from the age when I began to struggle (pictured as the greyscale peace-sign shirt girl) with my future self (color, white dress) reassuring my younger self that things get better.
The conflict arises with the siren, symbolizing suicidal ideation, trying to persuade the greyscale girl to give up, but ultimately, failing to. It progresses with my journey growing up as I changed in appearance and developed as a person, maturing into adulthood. All the symbols in the background along the walk cycle represent a different person (or pet) who helped me keep fighting along the way.
This was created during the Covid-19 lockdown and took roughly 2 weeks of full-time work on it around the time when I had Covid.
The music featured is "All Eyes On Me" by Bo Burnham.
When I’m Older
When I'm Older is a comical animatic with a few of my own characters from a series I'm writing called Thrown. It was originally made for Instagram before the Reels functionality, so I made it a square ratio to not get cropped off anywhere.
When I saw Frozen 2 the song made me laugh and think of my character who is a young boy intermittently possessed by the demon of Gluttony being in total denial of the events of the story while the older characters look on.
The music featured is “When I’m Older” performed by Josh Gad.
Student Work
At the Savannah College of Art and Design, I entered college as an Animation major. During my studies, I realized I wanted to branch out into Dramatic Writing so I could learn how to write stories for animation and other mediums. The work below is from my time in the animation department.
A storyboarding project, in which we were assigned to do the same scene/sequence of events but with different tones/shooting styles. I did a rockstar falling off the stage. (Or more like a failed stage dive.)
The music is Yuri the Only One for Me by the Leetstreet boys, and Chelsea Dagger by the Fratellis. The crowd gasp is by Hollywood Edge, and the falling sound is from Körper fällt zu Boden Sounds (BerlinAtmospheres on youtube).
This is a head turn assignment from my 2-D animation class. Miss fairy here is angry because someone stole her flower and she doesn’t know who. She turns around to find the culprit, a large and intimidating rabbit, reconsiders her angry mood.
A storyboard project where a girl is flying a kite on a beach and a dragon seems to have taken interest in the kite as well.
